A Year of Blessings...

Dear Family, Friends & Friends we have yet to meet...

It has been just over a year, July 11th, that Dave was diagnosed with ALS. What a year! There is so much to say, yet where do I start?
I want to begin with THANK YOU. A word we say a hundred times a day, but it in no way diminishes the sincerity in this family’s heart. When we think of the hundreds of people that have spoken into our live's in this past year we are humbled. I am sitting here trying to put into words what you have done... as tears fall...I realize there is just no way I can express the million, yes, the million things that have been given to us. From the small things to the huge things, and things that you thought might have been small were often the things that meant the most! One thing I know for sure...this Family would not have survived without YOU. We are filled with gratitude. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus...

What wonderful messages to put on your Blog. Your positive approach is very amazing to me. To laugh as David drives his quad -- I mean electric wheel chair and then say you should see the other guy-- so like my David -- always upbeat even with his injuries. We love you all so very much. Kisses and Hugs to you all. Love, Mom (and Dad)

Thanks for putting this together...great way to keep in touch and be able to pray more intelligently. I have tears in my eyes as I read your eloquent words and hear the gratitude and faith from your heart. May you sense God's love and presence and grace each day - with much love, Karin for all the Thornes...

Hi Dave and Family,

First off I wish to thank you for including me in your circle of Family and Friends.
After a few rewrites I have resolved to say what I really mean.
Dave, you are one of the "happy people" that I know. I hope that I can emulate your positive spirit through your wonderful Blog.
For now I only want to convey that Kerry and I are stunned at this announcement. I do not pretend to know what ALS is fully, but I can assure you I will very shortly.
I wish you all the very best. Kerry and I will join in on this wonderful Blog as often as possible.
We wish You and your Family strength, joy and many happy days ahead.

Suzy from the IOM,
Thank you for letting me come and stay with you all last month. I really enjoyed getting to know you all much better, and I am glad that you could understand my funny ways!! I miss our happy hours and am trying to get our family here to have one--or two!!!

Sorry to hear about the tumble out of HUGO, but sounds like you enjoyed the fuss everyone made. Let's get that drive paved asap!!!

I know that GOD is walking with you in your journey and I hope that you will remember that I can return if it suits you all.
Much love Suzy XXX
